Sportfish: Grouper

This page is dedicated to the sportfishing for various species of grouper.  On this page is a large variety of the grouper complex that include Grey (Gag), Scamp, Red, Mystic, Rockhind, Yellowfin, Yellowmouth, Sea Bass, Tilefish, Kitty Mitchel, Warsaw, and Blackbelly.

Traditionally these fish are bottom dwellers and are targeted with live, cut or artifical bait while drifting across structure such as natural reefs or wrecks.  Depths for these fish ranged from 14' to almost 1600'.  For added excitement target these fish with light tackle spinners and with Berkley Gulp Curly Tails on a jig head using Fireline braid.
